Congratulations to all of the Installer/Technician and Wireman Apprentices on your achievements and graduation.  As you prepare to make the transition from apprentice to Journeyman or Installer/Technician, please remember the following words of advice:

“A person’s education begins when their schooling ends” 

I do not remember who first said these words, but I truly believe that your “education” to become a good Journeyman begins that day after graduation.  Your hard work in class and on the job has got you where you are today, so be confident in your capabilities.  Remember, the longer you work in our trade, the higher your comfort level will grow.  Stay current with the latest trends in the electrical industry and don’t forget to occasionally take an “upgrade” class.
 
Again I would like to congratulate the class of 2008.  My years as Training Director have been rewarding as I have watched all of you acquire the Knowledge, Skill and Attitude that will aid you in becoming exceptional electricians and leaders in the industry.
 
I am looking forward to your graduation ceremony on May 17th at 12 noon during which time I will have the privilege of presenting you to the Business Manager of I.B.E.W. Local #357 as Journeymen and Installer/Technicians.
